RALEIGH-DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA

Tradition Reimagined:Four Harps, One Shared Pulse

North Carolina's premier four-llanera-harps ensemble, uniting senior Maestros del Arpa Llanera under the musical direction of Venezuelan virtuoso Larry Bellorín to celebrate traditional Venezuelan, Colombian, and Latin American classics.

The Ensemble

A sound built from four sets of hands

One llanera harp carries melody, bass and percussion at once. Four of them, arranged deliberately, create a register of counterpoint rarely heard outside the plains of Venezuela and Colombia — and never before assembled this way in North Carolina.

Arpa Nova Project exists to preserve that tradition, to innovate inside it, and to share it with audiences and students across the state and beyond.
